This page provides a plain-language summary of DYVUM’s general booking and cancellation arrangements.
It should be read together with the full DYVUM Terms & Conditions and the specific terms stated for your course, trip or expedition.
If there is any inconsistency, mandatory Malaysian law and any applicable prescribed MOTAC terms will prevail, followed by the specific written terms for your booking and then the general DYVUM Terms & Conditions.
Your place is confirmed when:
An enquiry alone does not reserve a place.
The required deposit will be stated on the relevant course, trip or expedition information.
All deposits are non-refundable because DYVUM must make non-refundable payments to third-party suppliers to secure your place.
Your place will be reserved upon receipt of deposit.
Your invoice or booking confirmation will state the payment schedule and final payment date.
Kindly pay for instalments by their respective due dates.
If payment is not received, DYVUM may release the booking after reasonable notice.
Please send cancellations in writing to:

Your cancellation is effective from the date we receive your written notice.
The amount refundable depends on:
We will clearly state the applicable cancellation schedule before or when your booking is confirmed.
Dive courses involve instructor scheduling, training materials, pool arrangements, transport, accommodation and/or dive-operator reservations.
Cancellation charges may therefore apply once these components have been arranged.
Where practical, DYVUM may allow an eligible course booking to be moved to another date instead of cancelled, subject to:
A transfer is not guaranteed.
International expeditions normally involve advance commitments to overseas suppliers.
These may include:
Consequently, all payments may become non-refundable well before departure.
Each expedition will therefore have its own published payment and cancellation schedule.
Where DYVUM has already paid a non-refundable amount to a supplier for your booking, that amount may not be recoverable if you cancel.
If a supplier later refunds an amount to DYVUM that had previously been treated as non-refundable, DYVUM will reassess any amount properly due back to you after applicable charges.
If you cannot travel, contact us as soon as possible.
We may be able to transfer your booking to another eligible participant where the relevant suppliers permit this.
Additional fees may apply.
Air tickets and certain named bookings may not be transferable.
Dive schedules and travel itineraries may need to change because of:
Where reasonably possible, we will provide a suitable alternative.
A change in dive site, daily schedule, vessel, instructor or equivalent programme component will not normally constitute cancellation of the entire booking.
If DYVUM cancels a service for reasons within our reasonable control, we will advise you of the applicable alternative, credit or refund.
If cancellation results from circumstances outside our reasonable control, recovery may depend on what the relevant suppliers return to DYVUM and on applicable legal requirements.
Some expeditions require a minimum number of participants.
The required number will be stated on the trip information where applicable.
If the minimum is not reached, we may:
We will communicate available options before making any material change to your booking.
Diving depends on environmental conditions.
For safety reasons, dive sites, schedules or individual dives may be changed or cancelled by the responsible dive operator, boat captain, instructor or other authorised professional.
Safety decisions will take priority over the planned itinerary.
When such scenarios arise, unused prepaid dives are not refundable.
No refund will be provided for activities missed because a participant:
Any exception will depend on the specific booking circumstances and applicable law.
For major and international trips, we strongly recommend purchasing suitable travel insurance as soon as material non-refundable payments are made.
Where DYVUM specifies insurance as mandatory for a particular expedition, proof of appropriate coverage may be required.
Certain destinations, operators or expeditions may require appropriate diving or emergency-evacuation coverage.
Any specific requirement will be stated in the trip information.
Where DYVUM specifies insurance as mandatory for a particular expedition, proof of appropriate coverage may be required.
Where a refund is approved, DYVUM will process it after:
Any unavoidable bank, foreign-exchange or payment-provider costs associated with the original transaction or refund will be deducted where permitted and appropriately disclosed.
Every major expedition may have its own:
